Skello

2018

Skello is a versatile building block with immense potential to create and build almost anything. Instructed to create something inspired by air, I , together with a classmate focused on foam. Beginning with trying to make foam ourselves, we tested different methods and materials such as wood foam and sunflower oil foam. Later on being inspired by the structure of foam, we created our own piece with balloons and gypsum. We removed a piece from the gypsum structure and analysed it to asume its potential. The unique structure of foam was a key player in the finished product. A product we decided to call Skello.

Working together as a team, we learned new processes such as 3D scanning, experimentation with uncommon materials, and extensive work in CAD. Combining all these processes, we in the end realized Skello in foam, as it was its origin.
